I kept a solid network of friends i could call or text when I wanted to drink. I made a list of 5 things I could do when I wanted to drink (most often taking my dog walking with an audiobook won), i devoured self empowerment and sober literature, I gave myself grace for the hard days… I rewarded myself for the milestones. I kept a sober tracker- and the thought of having to reset it honestly stopped me a few times. I connected with sober people and added a ton of sober groups to my social media- so it just became part of my daily world.
