I will get lost in the moment and randomly start thinking about my DOC. It makes me mad that I still think about it because of how messed up my life was while I was using. And it’s been 133 days since I’ve been in recovery. Does it ever get any easier?
Hey, Blake. Congrats on your sobriety.
Yes, things get easier. We have to give our bodies time to adjust. How much and how often you used does effect how easy it may be to get off your DOC.
Keep your head high. Know this too shall pass. It gets easier. And a year from now the struggles won't matter. All that matters is you stayed sober another day.
Yes 100% gets easier. 133 feels really long but compared to how long you were using it’s not really that long of a time period to forget the high. I think after like 9 months or so I got to a point where it wasn’t as prevalent in my thoughts, that’s about when I started sponsoring more women and was watching how much their lives changed by working a program. That was very spiritual for me. now at over 4 years the only times I ever think about my DOC is when I’m really depressed or anxious about Something, which usually happens when I fall of meditation & service work. id Suggest getting involved in a 12 step fellowship if possible.
