Someone very wise, and with a lot of years of not only sobriety, but true happiness told me, “AA meetings are like the Tylenol. You don’t just take Tylenol if you need surgery.” So meetings are amazing, especially my home group, but if you “need surgery” Tylenol is not just going to make the problem go away. You have to put in the work, the reading, the sponsorship, and the accountability.
