Being "recovered" doesn't mean your cured or fixed or not an alcoholic or addict anymore. It means your body no longer depends on the substance, your mind doesn't fantasize about using or doesn't think it will be a good idea anymore. Recovered means you have healed bodily, mentally and spiritually. It means you can once again operate as a sane member of society without the urges to drink or use drugs or partake in addictive behaviors.

Thank you for that explanation John but for me it is deeper then the alcohol and drugs. For recovery is the right word

Fair enough, whatever works to keep you sober, happy and healthy is the right path for each individual
