Only an alcoholic can help another alcoholic.

Not entirely true. An alcoholic may have intimate underlying of the disease, but a person who is understanding and there to help is just as capable of assisting someone in recovery. It only takes patience and openness to help anyone through their troubles.
Thank you Steven. I know I'm in sobriety, too- but the arrogance in the sober/recovery community is terrible. We literally think no one has as bad we do, only our program works, no one can help another alcohol unless he or she is an alcoholic, and blah blah.
Same go for meth addicts cause I can't find one I want to sponsor me
