Memores Sumus Vestri in Mortale. That is the phrase spoken in the ear of every general who entered Rome in triumph. It means "remember, you are only human." It was meant to remind him to remain humble because even in his highest moment, he was subject to falling.
This phrase reminds me daily that I am able to fail. I am prone to it in fact. It reminds me to forgive my failures and shortcomings because, I too am human.
