Loosid Sober Tip of the Day July 20

Yesterday we discussed how it feels to be sober. Today we look at what it takes to get sober.

Moving from being sober to getting sober requires us to start working a spiritual program.

We have removed the ‘spirits’ and need to replace it with spirituality.

In 12 step Groups, this consists of Unity (meetings and fellowship), Service (to others), and working the 12 steps.

Whatever the spiritual program, you need to enter it swiftly. If we sit in the seat of sobriety and not embark on a spiritual program, we will stay in pain.

There are people who stay ‘being sober’ without a spiritual program for decades and, while they are officially sober, they have not worked a spiritual program and because of this, have not had the opportunity to remove the blockages required to set them free. We often refer to these people as dry.

If you have questions on what to do, ask in the comment section below. The Loosid community is here to help you.

If you have been sober for a while and are working a spiritual program, help the newcomers by sharing your experience below.

There are many people in the Loosid community who need to hear what you have to say.

With Love, Loosid :pray::heart:

I found a great church that is very accepting and not judgmental.

I am sober and spiritual but I feel AA is the ultimate only way to go. When I was in the program I felt like I was treated like a child and expected to know what to do and all the rules immediately and felt so out of place most meetings. They did get easier. I'm not sure if I will attend any this time.

Where do you start and how do you start thanks

I have been looking for a local face to face meeting in my area.. feel like I need to go but so unsure if it will be right for me

I struggle with getting to a meeting too. I go to one in person meeting a week and no one has offered me a phone number. I haven’t asked for one, but I thought someone would knowing I am recently sober. I go to online meetings other days. Not a meeting close to me

Amen

Get phone numbers, use them, get a sponsor, use them, find outside healthy activities, do them, open your heart to the fact that your ideas aren’t the best, pray for guidance and take the lessons in front of you to :heart:

If your struggling find your higher power that balanced me out I could focus a lot better it's worth a shot.
