Just served 6 months in jail..... really struggling with the re entry process and staying clean
Hi ! This is why I developed and taught a life skills/re-entry into society class at the state jail. Too many would re-offend so I decided to try to do something about it. I tried to make my classes fun but educational.
We had a class on the masks we wear, what we want others to see. I gave them each 2 paper masks.to color. One for what they wanted others to see and the other for their true selves. When we met to discuss them I used tape to hold them on. Head counts were every 30 minutes. When the CO came in, he started laughing as each on stood when his name was called, wearing his mask. By the way, the masks were not full face masks, only the top half of the face. No one should be sent back out unprepared. But too often they are. Thank you for sharing.
