I joined in hope I could meet some other sober people. I’m wondering if there is a local friend meetup component of the app, or if it’s just dating? I don’t have sober friends and am feeling somewhat isolated.

Meetings are going to be your best bet to meet like minded people

There is. Dating section, but the prime function is a sober community. Hopefully you can find friends in your area through the app, but if not you will still find friends.
