Ask the DMV where you lost it.
Depending on circumstances... Dui, suspension from infractions etc... There's court and dmv mandated procedures that you should be aware of or able to get information on. Otherwise, if it's expired and has been too long, you'd have to retest if too much time has past. I've had 2 duis and suspension after suspension. Was a bitch but got mine back after many years of no lic.
