Why do you think drinking is a big part of cultural holidays and celebrations?
-We tend to view holidays as time to unwind from the real world. We turn to alcohol to ease our minds. We want to escape from our troubles.

Which holidays and/or celebrations do you struggle most in sobriety?
Alcohol has long been associated with celebrating due to its effect of creating a happy sensation in many if it’s users, or lowering inhibitions. Some cultures use alcohol as a way to elevate their people so the may commune with the gods. This connection has become part of humanity’s dna. My favorite holiday tha is considered a drinking holiday is ST. Patrick’s Day. I enjoy it more sober.
I like St. Patty's day, too. The sober version of course. I get to eat my cabbage, cornbeef, green juice...and wearing my green skirt.
