Bought sense is better than told sense. A proverb I hear from my wife everyday. If I had a penny for every lesson someone tried to teach me, that I then had to learn on my own; I would be a very wealthy man.

Mine would be we are all subject to something and someone. Like all youth I thought I was an adult and nobody could tell me what to do. I was wrong and found it the hard way.
