89 days sober! Wanna know why I'm celebrating today and not tomorrow? Because every day sober is a miracle for me, and clean time really doesn't matter. It's just an arbitrary number. I've had years of clean time before, and relapsed. The only important outcome is that I got back up and did the next right thing, and then the next.
And who knows what tomorrow will bring anyway? I'm not drinking today, and that's a miracle, and that's all that matters to me right this minute.
I did it by going to treatment, getting a sponsor, and actually calling them, and being active in my recovery community. It's worked for so many people, why not me? Why not you?
I'll never say "I got this" because I'm not sure any of us can say that safely. But I'm not drinking today. And that's beautiful.
